Please come and join director Jackie Oudney for a Q & A about making this feature film, and her work in commercials.
“I consider myself lucky firstly because I am French, secondly because I make movies, thirdly because I understand love.”
A dissatisfied journalist suffers through an assignment to interview a pretentious Gallic filmmaker, who subjects him to his life philosophy and unwanted advice about amour. To his surprise, he starts to apply this foreign worldview to his rapports with his partner and friends, as they wade through dysfunction, couples counselling, and keeping that special spark alive.
With a wry, witty look at cultural stereotypes and relationships, this is “an (un)romantic comedy that explores the very different attitudes to love held by the French and the English.”
Critic Philip French recommended, “The film is clever, funny and emotionally truthful”.
Winner of the prizes for best actor and best screenplay at the Monte Carlo Comedy Film Festival.
